New TT Comment: 2008-01-31 18:53:13

A new member has to wait one day to post a new topic or article to the home page.

From the New users section on the help page :

After activation, new user can post comments immediately. A new user must wait one day, however, before creating a new article. And a new user must wait three days before editing content created by someone else. This barrier is added to help deter spammers.

lew, try sending your e-mail again. The anti-spam features may be a little too strict on my e-mail account. I've lowered my shields, so your message should get through.

I'll have to check my anti-spam filters again.

I didn't change anything. It's been working for me. What browser do you use? The counters don't work properly with the Google Chrome browser if I check the save login box when logging into Toledo Talk. If I logout or don't select save login, then the counters work.

madjack, try sending your e-mail again. I reduced the anti-spam options on that mail account, so maybe your message will go through this time. Post here if your e-mail gets rejected again.

"I'd like to know why someone "who" seems to have not allowed me to Post some of my msg's??"

I'll second holland's "Huh?"

Maybe the answer is unusual solar activity.

I receive e-mail from other users. I assume you are receiving a bounce-back message. If so, what does it say?

Another option is to send e-mail to toledotalk@gmail.com, but don't assume I check that account daily. And you can send a private message within Toledo Talk from your micro blog.

Trilby, the answer is "No." The e-mail feature you described does not exist here.

You can, however, send a short private message to another. It won't go to the other user's e-mail account. The recipient would read the private message within Toledo Talk.

Click on your own username. Then on your profile page, click "micro blog." And then you will see instructions to send a private message.

rfisher, your profile page says you have been a member since March 2. The database says you created your account shortly after 6:00 p.m. on March 2. Your above comment was made a little shy of 72 hours. Since it's now after 7:00 p.m., you should be able to start a new thread.

Thespian, is this the post that you're talking about that you created yesterday?

If so, it's on the front page of the website.
