Amazing second half for Alabama and their multiple true freshmen players. I listened to the game on the radio, as usual, since we don't have cable/satellite TV. Going to a bar to watch TV does not interest me, unless my brother Jay is coaching for one of the teams. He has coached college football for about 25 years. I went to a bar last year to watch his bowl game. Anyway, even listening to national championship game on the radio while working on the computer, eating, and crocheting was still fun.

hilarious. two different takes. both are probably wrong because the political ideologues wear blinders, and they only observe what the they want. it's crowd noise. it's probably boos and cheers. and who cares about this? the political ideologue hacks.

The #IndieWeb community smartly doesn't rely on email ...

I wonder what that means? I assume that it means that the IndieWeb does not use an email listserv for discussions.

... but if you insist, you can subscribe to This Week in the IndieWeb, a weekly digest of recent and upcoming events, posts from IndieNews, and a summary of wiki edits, sent out every Friday afternoon.

Sounds good. Email still has usefulness. And email newsletters are wildly popular.

While my sawv.org site can send and receive Webmentions as a commenting system, I could see going the lo-fi approach where user replies have to be emails to me. Users can create reply posts on their websites and email me the links to their reply posts. Simple.

State authorities have taken steps to stop illegal invaders that are threatening to wreck Ohio’s ecosystem.

The Ohio Department of Agriculture has established new rules that make it illegal to sell or distribute 38 destructive invasive species of plants. Many of the plants — including some types of honeysuckle, autumn olive shrubs, and Bradford pear trees — took root in the state when they were mistakenly imported to the region. Some have spread aggressively after they became favorite sellers at commercial nurseries and garden centers.

The plants are threats because they choke out native species, reduce biological diversity, affect the food sources for other native plants and animals, and even displace wildlife, according to the Ohio Invasive Plant Council.

Some honeysuckle varieties that have invaded Ohio riverbanks and wooded areas shade out native species. They also harm birds because their seeds provide inferior nutritional content and birds that nest in the honeysuckles are more vulnerable to nest predators.
