This example shows that it's okay to embed images within the article. I made a change. I used smaller versions of the images, around 640 pixels wide max, instead of the original size, which was around 1000 pixels wide. I included a link to an enlarged version for one image.

Keeping the images small and useful with links to larger versions to the images keeps page weight down. Obviously, providing only links for all of the images and embedding none of the images is the lightest method. But a few small to medium-sized images should be okay.
